Zen Petroleum Limited has donated assorted items to the victims of the explosion at Appiatse,near Bogoso in the Prestea-Huni Valley Municipality of the Western Region.
Presenting the items on Tuesday, Head of Operations, Zen Petroleum, Mr. Stanley Tweneboah, stated that the donation formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
“This is our first donation, but we plan to supply the victims with medical items. We will do all we can to provide comfort for the victims,” he said.
Mr Tweneboah appealed to the municipal assembly to ensure that the items were distributed to the affected persons.
The Deputy National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Municipal Co-ordinator, Mr Louis DwumorAfful, who received the items on behalf of the community, expressed gratitude to Zen Petroleum Limited, and assured that the items would be used for the intended purpose.
He appealed to other corporate organisations, non-governmental organisation and philanthropists to emulate Zen Petroleum Limited’s gesture and assist the victims of Appiatse explosion.
