The National Sports Authority has assured Ghanaians that the Baba Yara Sports Stadium will be ready to host the Ghana Premier League Super Clash between rivals Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak.
Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak face off on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi for the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League match day 13 clash.
Concerns have been raised about the quality of the pitch after Kotoko’s FA Cup against Future Stars but Patience Mensah, the PRO of the NSA has assured fans that work is being done on the pitch and it will be ready to host the game.
“After the renovations, the Milo Games were held, so we engaged officials and fans. Those who watched the games on the first day can attest that the pitch was in very good condition. However, because it is natural grass, defects occur with continuous use.”
“We prepared a maintenance plan, and after the games ended, we started working to restore the pitch to ensure it will be ready for Sunday, so Kotoko can host the match here,” she said.
Accra Hearts of Oak are 6th on the Ghana Premier League table with 19 points while Asante Kotoko occupy the 7th position with 18 points after 12 games.
