NPP Vetting Committee report in

The Vetting Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has submitted its report to the General Secretary.

The report was handed to Justin Kodua Frimpong after a closed-door meeting that lasted more than one hour.

Ten aspirants who successfully filed their nominations at the end of closing on Saturday, June 24 were vetted between Monday, July 3 and Thursday, July 6.

Former Minister of Trade and Industry Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen was the first to face the Prof Mike Oquaye Committee.

Energy expert Kojo Nsafoah Poku and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia followed in that order on the first day of vetting.

The others took their turns until Thursday, July 6 when former Mampong Member of Parliament (MP) Francis Addai-Nimoh was vetted.

The results of the vetting is scheduled to be published on Friday, July 21 ahead of balloting on Monday, July 24.

“On the face of it, the party is very satisfied,” said Spokesperson of the Committee on Monday after submitting the report.

“If the party has any issues, they’d come back to us.”

Later acknowledging receipt, General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong reaffirmed national leadership’s commitment “to ensuring a free fair, peaceful, and transparent election process”.
