The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has tasked members of all standing committees of the party to put loyalty to the party above all other considerations.
He noted that by swearing an oath their first loyalty was to the party and issues that came before them should be kept at the committee level unless the leadership of the NPP decided that it should be made public.
“For various members of the committee, as you have sworn an oath you should know first and foremost, your loyalty is to the New Patriotic Party and issues that come before your committee should be kept at the committee level unless the party decides it should come out,” he cautioned.
Mr Frimpong, who tasked the committee at the official swearing-in of all standing committees announced by Stephen Ntim, the National Chairman of the NPP, that their appointment was in accordance with the constitution of the party, hence the need to be loyal so as not to wash their dirty lining in the public domain.
The Finance Committee will be chaired by Abankwa Sekyere; the Constitutional and Legal Committee will be chaired by Frank Davies; the Organisation Committee will be chaired by Lord Commey; the Research Committee will be chaired by O. B Amoah; the Disciplinary Committee will be chaired by Kwasi Amoako-Atta and the Communication Committee will be chaired by Nana Akomea.
According to Mr Frimpong, in early November, the National Council of NPP appointed members and chairpersons to serve on the party’s standing and ad hoc committees and the appointment by the National Council was in accordance with the party’s constitution.
“Pursuant to Article 10(3)(6) of the NPP constitution, the National Council, at its meeting held on October 5, 2022, and upon further consultations with relevant stakeholders, appointed the persons to serve on the Standing and Ad hoc committees of the party and the appointed members are to serve on the finance, constitution, legal, organization, research, disciplinary and communication committees of the party.
