NFA honours young writers under its Script Bank project.

On Friday, November 15, 2024, the National Film Authority [NFA] celebrated the talent and creativity of young writers under its Script Bank Project.

The event which took place at the Accra Tourism Information Centre, aimed at engaging writers under the age of 25 and opening a platform for these young creatives to channel their ingenuity by writing compelling stories featuring the iconic Ananse Character.

Earlier this year, these writers poured their hearts and minds into their scripts, and the best among them were recognised for their exceptional work.

Nana Akosua Asiedu Ansah Asare emerged as the victor of the Ananse Scriptwriters Competition with her story titled “Seamless Heist.” She was awarded a cheque for GHC 5,000.

The 1s runner-up went to Adusei Gabriel with his script ‘Meet Kwaku Ananse’.he was presented with a cheque of GHC3,000

Koby Cole who occupied the 2nd runner-up position with ‘The African Messiah script’ also received an amount of GHC2,000.

The Script Bank Project and the Ananse Project exemplify the National Film Authority’s dedication to cultivating the next generation of writers.

By providing young writers with the platform, recognition and support they need, the NFA led by Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante is not only celebrating their achievements but also laying the groundwork for a vibrant film industry that will continue to thrive for years to come.
