Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus played a pivotal role in West Ham United’s 2-1 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night, delivering a stellar performance at the London Olympic Stadium.
The forward, who started on the flanks, showcased his skill and creativity as the Hammers sought to recover from two consecutive Premier League defeats.
After a goalless first half, Tomas Soucek broke the deadlock for West Ham in the 54th minute. Kudus thought he had doubled the lead just six minutes later, but his effort was ruled out following a VAR review for offside.
Wolves responded in the 69th minute with Matt Doherty levelling the score, setting up a tense final stretch of the match. However, Kudus rose to the occasion, delivering a pass to Jarrod Bowen in the 72nd minute, who slotted home the winner to seal the three points for the hosts.
Kudus had the ball in the net again late in the match, but his second goal of the night was also disallowed for offside. Despite the setbacks, his impactful performance was instrumental in West Ham’s victory.
The Black Stars forward now boasts two goals and one assist in 10 Premier League appearances this season, further solidifying his reputation as a key player for the Hammers.
The result lifts West Ham’s spirits as they look to climb the league table in the coming weeks, with Kudus firmly establishing himself as a fan favourite in London.
