An 80-year-old man, Joseph Darko, also known as Afetor Yesu, has been found beheaded in the AgortimeKpetoe District of the Volta Region.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Agotime-Ziope, Ms Emelia Adzimah, who confirmed the story to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the headless body was reportedly found among palm trees along a road leading to KportaKorfe.
She said that the victim left home on Monday, June 13, 2022, around 11 pm,to assist two strangers secure a place to spend the night.
Ms Adzimah said the strangers had reportedly approached Darko and told him they needed a place to lodge. The DCE said Darko was not seen until a heavy rainfall the following day during which his headless body was found, and the police were informed about the case.
Ms Adzimaah said the incident could be attributed to a land dispute and that the Police were yet to comment on the incident. – GNA
