Kwahu West Business Advisory Centre supports apprentices.

The Business Advisory Centre (BAC) under the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly has provided apprenticeship training for groups and business associations across the municipality.

The beneficiaries were members of the National Association of Beauticians and Hairdressers and the Association of Small Scale Industries.

Speaking during the Assembly’s meeting held at Nkawkaw, Mr Yaw Owusu-Addo said the department received GH¢ 535,200.00 from the Rural Enterprise Development Fund to support over 80 clients from the various trade associations in the municipality.

Some of the support, he said were in the form of training, equipping apprentices with start- up kits and monetary value to enable them start up their own businesses and to improve their standard of living.

Mr Owusu-Addo said the department trained some youth in soap making and were presented with Agro Industrial Soap Making start-up kits as support to enable them to establish their own businesses.

He said 2,000 Small and Medium- sized Enterprises (SMEs)were supported by the BAC to apply for the Coronavirus Alleviation Programme to enable them expand their businesses.

The MCE entreated the youth to patronize programmes organized by the BAC to help create job opportunities for themselves and others.
