GNA – Two-time African champions, Asante Kotoko S/C, has sealed a year-long partnership deal with the National Lottery Authority (NLA) worth one million Ghana Cedis.

It is the thirteenth sponsorship deal to be struck by the Porcupine Warriors under the Nana Yaw Amponsah Administration, which is seeking to strengthen collaboration with the corporate world to boost the Club’s finances.

Mr. Sammy Awuku, Director-General, NLA, speaking at the event in Kumasi, said the deal was for the mutual benefit of the two entities.

The new partnership would see the NLA introducing a product dubbed ‘atena game’, a novelty aimed at rewarding supporters for accurate predictions on matches involving the Porcupine Warriors.

“I am happy that the NLA as it approaches its 60th Anniversary next year, has partnered a club with the pedigree of Asante Kotoko to introduce another innovation in the lottery and football circles,” Mr. Awuku noted.

According to the NLA Director-General, his outfit had resolved to enter the digital space to reward the supporters and well-meaning Ghanaians.

Nana Yaw Amponsah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Asante Kotoko, indicated that his Administration was committed to using innovative means to build the financial base of the African football giants.

He thanked the Director-General and Management of the NLA for acceding to the request of the Club in coming on board to promote the interests of the two entities.

The CEO asked the supporters to endeavour to patronize products introduced by the NLA to strengthen the newfound friendship and goodwill between the two bodies.

Mr. Goodfellow Dei Ofei, Public Affairs Manager at the NLA, in an interview with the GNA Sports, on the sidelines of the programme, urged the Porcupine Warriors to strive to embrace the ‘atena game’.

He said a partnership with Kotoko was worth it given the large following of the club, saying the move makes economic sense.
