GWCL offers defaulting customers amnesty till August

Must Read

The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) is to grant its defaulting customers’ amnesty till August this year, to enable it collect its arrears.

The GWCL made this known in a statement released and copied to the Ghanaian Times in Accra on Sunday.

It indicated that customers with two or more months arrears, would be amnestied to enable them to settle all outstanding bills before the end of August 2022, or risk having their names published in the national dailies.

The GWCL also said all customers with issues on their bills should contact the nearest district office for rectification.

“Citizens who have illegally connected water to their properties are being advised to report themselves to any regional or district offices of the GWCL, for their services to be regularised,” it added.

The water company has, therefore, urged all customers to take advantage of the period given them to right the wrongs or face the rigours of the law.

It indicated that its collection points were opened to all customers who owed to make the required payments and make all the necessary enquiries to avoid finding themselves wanting after the amnesty period.

“All GWCL collection/pay points are opened during normal working hours and customers can also pay their bills via mobile money channels with all the telecommunications networks,” GWCL added.
