Government given a 72-hour deadline to fire the NSS leader for “insulting” them.

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has issued a 72-hour ultimatum for the immediate dismissal of Ashanti Region National Service Scheme(NSS) Director Opoku Mensah.

The seemingly angry nurses are threatening to withdraw their services at the Manhyia District Hospital if the 72-hour ultimatum expires without dismissing Mr Opoku Mensah.

The whole issue is premised on an audio recording emanated from Manhyia District Hospital in the Ashanti Region in which a male voice purported to be that of Ashanti Region NSS director is heard raining insults on a nurse.

Speaking exclusively on Akoma FM‘s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma Tuesday, November 29, Ashanti Region Chairman for GRNMA Jones Afriyie Anto told host of the show Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin that “it is rather unfortunate that a whole regional director of National Service Scheme rains insults on a nurse and for that matter all nurses in Ghana. We are calling for the immediate dismissal of the director else we will withdraw all our services from the Manhyia District Hospital”.

Several attempts to call the said director, Opoku Mensah, for his side of the story proved futile at the time this report was filed.

The GRNMA has since issued press release to press home their demand.
