Ghana to participate in 2021 Arnold Classic Africa Championship

GNA – The Ghana Bodybuilders and Fitness Association (GBFA) will make a return to the annual Arnold Classic Africa Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship.

The Championship is making a return to the sporting calendar after two years of absence due to COVID-19.

Eight bodybuilders left Kotoka International Airport with Ethiopia Airline on Tuesday, November 16, to South Africa to participate in the 2021 edition.

The athletes were Godwin Frimpong, Joseph Ofolikwei, Arnold Aryee, Evans Amwagsi, Micheal Otu, Abraham Mawutor, Celestine Dogbeda, and James Atsu.

They were accompanied by two executives of the GBFA are Charles Owusu Ansah and Rosemary Yayra.

The last time Ghana participated in the champion, saw the team winning six medals, made up of three gold medals, two silver medals, and one bronze medal, and placed sixth in the event, after presenting nine athletes.

The leader of the delegation, Mr. Charles Owusu Ansah, who is the Vice President of the GBFA is hopeful Ghana would perform better in the championship.

“We have always done well in this championship and I am hopeful that we will do well in this event,” he added.
