GCB Bank Limited has presented an unspecified amount of money to the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi.
The gesture, was in fulfilment of a pledge to the club while underlining the bank’s commitment to cement the partnership with the club.
It will also serve as sponsorship to cover the GCB Tournament of Champions at end of the year reserved for winners of all handicap-qualifying competitions at the club in the year.
It again covers the GCB Competitions League which rewards the top three golfers in all competitions during the year.
Presenting a cheque to the club on Tuesday, the GCB Regional Manager, Mr. George Ackorful, said the continued sponsorship of the GCB Tournament of Champions and the GCB Competitions League was a clear indication of support for the promotion of golf.
He said the bank will formally launch the G-Money product at the GCB Tournament of Champions schedule for the middle of December, hoping that will drive the club’s shift to electronic payments.
Receiving the support, Prof Bernard Kofi Baiden, Head of Operationsthanked the bank and said participation in the GCB Tournament of Champion has now because the focus of many golfers at the club.
