The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has notified the general public against the consumption of some contaminated sausage products, “AIA Wudy and PavoFrankfurtbrands.”
The attention of the Authority was drawn, when the Italian authorities recalled the presence of Listeria bacteria in those sausages, produced by Agricola Tre Vali.
The Authority in a notice on Tuesday, noted that two batches with codes 1785417 and 01810919 with expiration date November 30, 2022, were implicated.
“Considering the recall activities ongoing in Europe and other countries, the FDA has conducted a market surveillance activity, where Pavo Frankfurt sausages with expiry date November 2022 was found in Ho, Volta Region,” the notice said.
However, it read that the products had since been detained for safe disposal and so far, no AIA Wudy sausages have been found on the markets.
The FDA has further directed anyone in possession of the above mentioned products, to immediately take them to either FDA’s Head Office or Regional Offices across the country.
“The FDA wishes to assure the public that its surveillance teams would continue to monitor the markets for any of the above-mentioned products,” it assured.
