The Parish Priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Kpando -Agbenoxoe in the Volta Region, Rev Fr Anthony Delali Azah, has called on Christians to shun worldly pleasures and embrace teachings of God, to enable them to earn everlasting life.
He reminded Christians that they had two ways to tread, either the path of God that leads to earn eternal life or that of the devil and his empty promises which leads to condemnation.
Rev Azah delivering the homily on Sunday, at Agbenoxoe, to mark the parish’s day dedicated to children, asked parents and guardians to secure a better future for their children, by teaching them how to fear God, instead of amassing wealth to make them happy in life.
He appealed to parents to love and pray for their children constantly and guard them against the negative effects of social media.
Rev Azar assured Christians of God’s protection though situations and conditions of life could change with it attendant misfortunes or calamities.
He asked them not be perturbed, but trust in God since he was faithful and would never disappoint them.
Rev Azah said that though Christians could be disappointed, God remained their dependable pillar on which they would derive strength.
Explaining the beatitudes in the Bible, he said the poor in spirit were those, who had no hope except God, and added that God would satisfy those who hunger for His word.
“Those who wept were the people who became remorseful for their infirmities, and Christians should be glad when men hate them because of the gospel.”
Rev Fr Azah urged Christians to obey the will of God, occupy their minds with spiritual things, and assured them that God would not renege on His promise to the faithful.
