Former Member of Parliament for the people of Ning-Prampram and Council of State member, Enoch Teye Mensah is reported dead.
The staunch National Democratic Congress member, who was former Minister of Sports under the Jerry Rawlings administration died at age 77 after a short illness.
Born on May 17, 1946, ET Mensah was a Minister for Education and a Member of Parliament in Ghana from January 1997 till January 2017.
His reign as a Member of Parliament commenced on January 7, 1997 on the ticket of the NDC representing the people of Ningo-Prampram till January 6, 2017, after he was defeated in the primaries by Sam George.
The late President John Evans Atta Mills appointed him Minister for Employment and Social Welfare in 2010.
E.T. Mensah was elected to the Council of State as the representative of the Greater Accra Region February 12, 2021 with seven children.
