Imani Africa Vice President Kofi Bentil says the calmness of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the face of attacks is “extremely commendable”.
Dr. Bawumia has become one of the most vilified politicians in the country, as he is always the focus of his opponents, especially the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Lately, he has been at the receiving end of fierce attacks from fellow New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer contender Kennedy Agyapong with many criticising the Assin Central MP for launching personal attacks on the Vice President.
With Dr. Bawumia yet to hit back such attacks, Kofi Bentil took to Facebook to express his admiration for the calmness of Dr. Bawumia.
“VP Bawumia’s calmness under attack is extremely commendable,” wrote Kofi Bentil on Facebook on Wednesday, October 4.
“No one has all the answers, we need such calm and focused leadership to succeed,” he added.
The NPP flagbearership contest has been fierce and Kennedy Agyapong, in particular, has been on the onslaught throughout the process, with his main target being Dr. Bawumia, who is widely tipped to be elected flagbearer next month. He had swept the votes in the Super Delegates Conference.
Kennedy Agyapong placed second after he pipped Alan Kyerematen, who was one of the frontrunners. He has since quit the NPP to go independent.
