Bawumia Parries Lies Against Him.

Must Read

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has deflated lies being peddled against him by his opponents ahead of the November 4, 2023 presidential primaries.

He urged delegates to disregard such false allegations by his opponents and focus on the November 4, 2023 primaries.

“We are about to make history in our party and history in this country, but unfortunately the way the results of the super delegates came, many of our opponents are confused and they are seeing looming defeat on November 4,” he said.

Dr. Bawumia indicated that his opponents have decided to adopt a new tactics by spreading lies to bring disunity and create problems between chairmen, constituency executives, polling station executives and electoral area coordinators.

“I hear different lies everyday, and that I’m giving 275 constituency chairmen GH¢100,000 and a pick-up, this is just a ridiculous lie,” he pointed out.

He debunked claims that he proposed for all siting MPs to go unopposed.

“How can I say that? The party constitution cannot even allow that because the party will be stronger when we have democracy working, so I will never say any siting MP should go unopposed, so that lie should be left alone,” he stated.

“They said further that I will not allow electoral area coordinators and polling station executives to vote in the presidential elections. How can this happen? It’s not possible for me to stop electoral area coordinators and polling station executives from voting because this was a national conference decision and I was very supportive of expanding the Electoral College to allow them to vote, and by the Grace of God they will continue to vote. What I want to do is to push for a new reform to allow polling station executives and electoral area coordinators to vote in the election of regional executives,” he explained.

He made this known at Tatale-Sanguli Constituency in the Northern Region as part of his nationwide engagement with party executives ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) November 4 presidential primaries.

On November 4, 2023, about 200,000 delegates of the New Patriotic Party will cast their vote to elect a presidential candidate for the 2024 general elections.
