Dr Kwame Asah-Asante, Senior Political Science Lecturer at the University of Ghana, has observed that digitalising the economy will help curb corruption, encourage accountability, transparency, enhance good governance and rule of law.
”I fully support digitalisation even when I am alive or dead because it is a good thing and I like the initiative every day to transform the economy from its current state to a viable one,” he stated.
Dr Asah-Asante commended Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and the Akufo-Addo-led administration for their digital transformative policy, programmes, plans and progress.
He lauded the situation where more light was shed on some already implemented digital programmes like the Ghana card, digital property address system, mobile money interoperability, Zipline medical drone delivery services, digitally advance the nation, e-pharmacy, e-passport, enrollment of Ghanaian babies onto the Ghana card and the synchronisation of data among others geared towards developing the country and ensuring that the nation catches up with the digital world.
DrAsah-Asante, was exhilarated by the government’s phenomenal successes and initiatives to digitalise the country to attract investment, create job opportunities for the youth, reduce insecurity,detect cybercrime and protect the nation from violent extremism. –peacefmonline.com
