The 1992 Year-Group of the Kumasi Academy has donated more than 2,000 copies of literature books to their alma mater as part of their activities marking the group’s 30 years since leaving Kumasi Academy.

The actual celebration of the 30th anniversary home-coming will take place in 2022.

The President of the ‘92 year group, Mr Harry Boakye, said the government approved literature books had been their contribution to boost the performance of the students in the subject.

Speaking with Ghanaian Times in a telephone interview at the weekend, Mr Boakye said the group also pledged to present laptop to the student who gets the best grade in the final examinations in literature every year.

On the ongoing ultramodern science laboratory project being spearheaded by the Kumasi Academy Past Students Association (KAPSA), the group has opted to furnish the kitchen at the cost of GH¢12,000.00.

Besides, Mr Boakye said his year group had also contributed GH¢28,000 being the cost of louvre blades and frames for the science laboratory.

Additionally, the group has supported the National Science and Mathematics Quiz (NSMQ) team with GH¢2,000 for making the school proud through regular appearances in the popular competition.

“Kumasi Academy has contributed significantly to the life of every student who passed through its walls,” he said, adding that it is therefore, necessary for each of us to contribute whatever in our own capacity for the advancement of our alma mater.
