A two-year-old girl on Monday drowned, in a stream at Abura-Adabodo, near Abura-Dunkwa, the capital of the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District of the Central Region.
Mr K.B Hayford, assembly member for Abura-Adabodo Electoral Area, said the girl, who attempted to go the mother on the farm drowned in the stream.
According to the assembly member, when the mother returned from the farm and could not find the child, she reported the case to elders of the community.
Mr Hayford said the elders organised a search party, who found the body of the girl by the stream.
The body of the girl has been deposited at Abura-Dunkwa Government Hospital awaiting autopsy and further investigations. – GNA
