The National Youth Ministry of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) International has launched ‘the Generals’, a group of young men and women committed to contributing funds to support church projects and activities across the country.

Delivering the keynote address at the launch in Accra on Saturday, CAC General Secretary, Apostle Samuel Amponsah-Frimpong, said the initiative would help the church expand and grow, especially in the rural parts of the country.

“Funding church projects and activities has been very difficult with limited finances but the formation of the Generals would provide another source of funding to undertake important projects like decent places of worship at deprived areas,” he stated.

He explained that the youth were committed to contributing a minimum of GH₵50 a month to help infrastructural, and other social activities, including supporting needy but brilliant students, drilling boreholes and giving back to community in various forms.

“This is a noble idea and it is important for all of us to come together and support the group to impact on people’s lives, “he stated.

The initiative, he said, was the first in the history of the church and glad to be part, adding that they would nurture the group to achieve their objectives.

He commended the youth leadership for the idea adding that the move would not only help individual beneficiaries but take the church to the next level.

Launching the project, the Director, Christian Education at CAC, Apostle Joseph KwekuArhin said, it was important to go out and win souls for Christ and be ‘disciples of all nations.’

That, he said, would demand financial support or some form of sponsorship to travel around and touch lives as directed by the scripture.

“I am therefore pleased that the youth came out with this beautiful idea to sponsor the work of God which would go a long way to change lives and communities across the country,” he stated.

He urged leadership of the church to support the youth on innovative programmes that would project the church to greater heights.

A management member of the Generals, Elder Anthony Arthur, urged the youth to show loyalty, commitment and dedication to the project to achieve its objectives.

He called on the youth across the country to come on board, and join the “Generals”to provide economic empowerment, and social development to deprived communities in the country.

Other dignitaries including the Coordinator, National Youth Ministry, Rev Eric Acquah and Rev SamuelIdowu also pledged their support to the project. The occasion was also used to unveil the National Youth Ministry Logo.
