Held on the theme “Enhancing Professional Practice through Branding, Ethical Discipline and Networking,” the day marked the Institute’s opening of the 2022 Professional year.

Mr Sam Okudzeto, a Fellow Chartered Professional Administrator (FChPA), who inaugurated the board charged the board to live up to task and continue the good work of the old board.

He noted that being on the board had it legal implications, for which reason they had to stick to their intended purpose and contribute their quota to the development of the Institute.

The Out gone Board Chairman, Mr Paul Hammond, who indicated that he had so much faith in the new board stressed the need for the institute to be financially resourced as it was highly indebted.

He also said there was the pressing need for the institute and its management to be restructured, coupled with a new strategic plan and a look at the institute’s constitution.

“We need to put in place a lateral management structure with qualified persons occupying positions such as accounting manager, marketing, sales and all the important aspects,” he added.

Mr Hammond recommended that the institute get a presidential and parliamentary charter, adding that “I charge the incoming board to make it a high level priority and set a subcommittee to pursue that agenda.”

For his part, the new Board Chairman of the Board of Trustees, EhunabobrimPrahAgyensaim VI, who thanked the previous board members and noted that their continuous support and advice would be needed.

He indicated that the commitment, passion and dedication of the out-gone board, under the leadership of Mr Paul Kwatei Hammond, towards the Institute had been phenomenal and inspirational.

Outlining what was to be expected of the new board, he indicated that the new board would ensure that the Institute is financially resourced, obtain a presidential charter, partner other institutes and help form new branches.

“Serious conversations must begin with regards to the Oyibi property and the surrounding parcel of land; the Board must allocate enough time, attention and other resources to the formation of branches, and have constant interactions with members, staff and students, as well as make staff welfare a priority,” he added.

Emphasising that the new board would work to create and implement a robust and an ambitious strategic plan that sets forth a bold agenda for the Institute, he added that “it will continue to be our responsibility as trustees to ensure that the vision expressed in the plan is realised during the term of the Board.”

“For this reason, we shall work together, bound by duty, to preserve and enhance the distinctive character of our Institute, and to do so with courage, confidence, care, humility, trustworthiness and transparency,” he added.
