The District Court at Ofaakor, in Accra, has remanded five persons into police custody, for allegedly murdering Isaac Mensah, over land dispute, at Papase No.1, a suburb of Awutu Senya West District.
The accused, Godson Koli, Christopher Koli, GodswayForwornu, James NiiArmah and John Tiaku, who pleaded not guilty to provisional charge with murder, are to re-appear before court on Friday, April 22.
Tiaku, who accompanied Mensah to the site, was arrested by the police. However, three others,also allegedly involved in the crime, were on the run and being chased by the police.
Chief Inspector Peter Amponsahprayed the court presided over by Mr Eric OhenebaAntwiBoasiakoto remand accused because investigations were ongoing.
Prosecution said Mensah was allegedly murdered at a sand winning site at Papase No. 1, after he had confrontation with accused over ownership of land.
Prosecutor said dockets were being prepared to be forwarded to the Attorney General for advice. -GNA
