An Accra Circuit Court has remanded three persons into police custody for alleged conspiracy to commit crime, to wit, causing unlawful damage.
IshmaelAshiteyOko, 33, Mechanic, Joseph ArmahAshai, 30, fisherman, and Daniel ArmahAshai, 34, fisherman, who denied the charges, would re-appear before court on May 18, 2022.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector SamuelAhiagbor told the Court presided over by Mr Prosper Due-Love Gomashie that the complainant, Clement Osekre, was a fashion designer.
Prosecution said both the complainant and accused resided at Teshie.
Chief Insp Ahiagbor said on August 5, 2021, whilst the people of Teshie were celebrating the Homowo festival, accused, and accomplices threatened to set the ancestral home of Clement Osekre “Agbawe Kotoko We” ablaze and to also attack him.
The court heard that accused issued the threat, in the presence of Emmanuel Osekre, a witness in this case.
Chief InspAhiagbor said that the witness, briefed Osekreabout the threat and Osekreinformed the family elders about the situation.
Prosecution said Leticia OsekreTsotsoo, also a witness in this case, was in the “AgbaweKotoko” house when accused and their accomplices stormed the place with bottles filled with petrol and assorted implements.
Chief InspAhiagbor said the group chased the woman out of the house and set it ablaze, causing damage to properties.
Prosecution said a complaint was lodged at the Nungua Police Station and the accused were arrested.
He said accused were charged with the offence and arraigned, whilst efforts were being made to arrest the accomplices. -GNA
